Lorna Long has worked in the fields of management, training and education for over 26 years. Her work has covered business and policy development, human resource development, lecturing, training and organisational management.  She has worked extensively in the training field and in particular competency based training. She has designed competency based training as well as developing resources and materials to support competency based training.  Her deep interest in education and training has allowed her to travel both interstate and overseas on many occasions to both study and research best practice in the delivery of training and educational programs. She has many years of experience on various boards of management often as chairman and has worked extensively on the issue of good governance of boards of management. She was a Telstra Business Woman of the Year finalist in 2000 and was made a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International in 2001 for her community work particularly with children and their families.
